Small flange KF components according to standard with highest quality
Small flange couplings can be used for vacuum systems operating in low, medium and high vacuum. A KF connection consists of two symmetrical small flanges, a centring ring with O-ring seal and a clamping ring. The conical design of the small flanges enables you to quickly seal, close and detachably connect your vacuum systems. You can choose between elastomer and metal seals depending on the vacuum requirements for bake-out capability, gas release, corrosion resistance and pressure range. For special requirements such as very low permeation of gases or high continuous temperature requirements, metal sealing rings made of aluminium are usually used.
As a common connection of standard components in vacuum, small flange connections are suitable for a pressure of 2.5 bar (1.5 bar overpressure) and for pressures up to 10-9 mbar. For a max. pressure of 4 bar (3 bar overpressure), use an additional external support ring in conjunction with a solid clamping ring during assembly. Small flange connections and components can only absorb mechanical loads to a limited extent. If additional forces act on top of the static or dynamic loads of the vacuum system, additional supports are necessary.
