Vacuum valves are used in countless processes and applications in industry and research. They are used to control the vacuum and compressed air, in vacuum lines or directly on the vacuum chamber. Especially for applications in high vacuum or ultra-high vacuum, it is crucial that the valves meet the special requirements for tightness. In addition, factors such as long service life, low maintenance, functional reliability in all installation positions as well as short opening and closing times are important criteria for choosing the right vacuum valve.
Angle and globe valves as cost-effective shut-off elements are available in various designs and nominal widths. Care has been taken in the material and design to meet the special requirements of vacuum technology. The valve bodies are therefore made of drawn aluminium profile or solid stainless steel. In addition to low weight, low overall height and high conductance, novotek angle and globe valves are characterised by a very low leakage rate. The actuator is manual or electro-pneumatic. Depending on the version, the valves are available as KF/ISO-F or CF variants.
Ball valves are very robust and can be used as shut-off valves in vacuum and low-pressure systems. An oscillating ball surrounded by two PTFE-sealed ball seats serves as the active shut-off part. The operating shaft is sealed by a Viton or PTFE sealed stuffing box. Manually operated ball valves are actuated by turning the switching handle 180 degrees, whereby the switching handle also functions as a position indicator. Electro pneumatically operated ball valves are suitable for automated vacuum systems, mostly controlled via PLC. novotek has 2- and 3-way ball valves made of stainless steel or brass in its range.
Slide valves for high and ultra-high vacuum applications are used when a maximum high conductance and optically free passage are required. The advantage of slide valves is their relatively low weight and flat design. The slide valves are also available manually or electro pneumatically driven. The pneumatic drive is double-acting. The valve is opened either directly via compressed air or controlled via an optionally integrated pilot valve, which transmits the compressed air to the valve. The (optional) position indicator signals the "open" or "closed" position.
Used as ventilation, shut-off or high-vacuum valves, butterfly valves are characterised by their compact design and high conductance. Made of stainless steel or aluminium, these valves are also available manually operated or electro pneumatically.
